Abstract

The Communication Confidence Rating Scale for Aphasia (CCRSA) was developed to measure the construct of confidence in persons with aphasia (PWA). During Phase 1, Rasch analysis was conducted following 42 administrations of an 8-item CCRSA. Good person-item fit was noted supporting its use in assessing self-report of communication confidence. This poster reports preliminary results from Phase 2, during which recommended modifications to items resulted in a 10-item CCRSA that was subsequently administered 94 times. Difference in communication confidence were related to severity of aphasia. Person-item fit and reliability and sensitivity of the 10-item CCRSA are reported.
