Abstract

We examined effects of errorless training for rehabilitation of dysgraphia in two individuals with stroke-induced dysgraphia. In a single participant crossover design, we provided phases of errorless and errorful spelling training in counterbalanced order. Improvements in spelling to dictation (large effect sizes) were evident for trained words in both participants following both errorful and errorless training phases; little generalization was noted for untrained words. At one month, decline in spelling performance was evident more for words trained in an errorless manner, suggesting a modest advantage for errorful spelling training. Participants preferred the less-frustrating errorless training protocol.
