Abstract

This investigation was designed to further examine the effects of Linguistic Specific Treatment (LST) by replicating an investigation of LST conducted by Thompson et al. (1997). A multiple baseline design was implemented to assess the effects of LST with an individual with Broca’s aphasia and apraxia of speech. Treatment was applied first to object cleft sentences and then to subject-raising sentences. Generalization was assessed to two additional sentence types, each one representing similar underlying movement patterns to those receiving treatment. Findings varied across sentence types, with positive changes being largely limited to object cleft sentences.
