Abstract
Group treatment has re-emerged in aphasia rehabilitation and is becoming recognized as an efficacious and cost-effective service delivery model, a byproduct of the growing crisis in the cost of healthcare and rehabilitation. This session presents a collaborative program of group treatment launched by two university programs for stroke survivors who are beyond the acute stages of recovery. The assessment protocol and procedures for documenting progress in functional communication will be described, along with preand post-data.
