Abstract

This investigation was designed to examine the effects of two word-retrieval cueing treatments that were modified to include provision of the orthographic form of the target word. The modification was made at the suggestion of the participant, who had shown negligible improvements in naming in response to both semantic and phonologic cueing treatments in a previous investigation. Extensive pretreatment testing revealed little evidence to suggest that the addition of the orthographic form would improve performance. However, results from a series of two multiple baseline designs revealed striking improvements in naming of trained actions for both treatments.
